Created this piece by centering a base form of brown clay and carving a spiral design around the entire surface. I then hand-coiled over 15 different colored clays, twisted them tightly together, and inlaid them into the brown clay before throwing the piece on the wheel.
Please note that there are visible crack lines within some of the colored designs on the vase. None of these cracks go through the piece, and the vase remains fully watertight.
All colored clays used in this piece are personally handmade in house by me.
