Collection: Layers Collection

This is my first fine art collection, an experimental 11 piece series exploring layers of hand colored clay and carved surface design. Each vase is wheel thrown, then carved into at varying depths to reveal the layered colors beneath. The surfaces have a mix of sharp and smooth areas, creating pieces that not only look interesting, but feel interesting. This is a very risky process with a lot of room for error, making each finished piece completely one of a kind. Every colored clay is made by hand by me in the studio.
